      Intern Interview

      30 Nov 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at IBM in Oct 2020

      Interview

It was a pretty lengthy process, and a little disorganized. I applied in late August, and received an email a day or two after asking me to complete the cognitive test. I was applying for a design position and the test was very math and logic based which kind of stressed me out (math is not my forte). Then a month went by and it was radio silence. I assumed that I didn't do well on the test - but then! I was asked to complete a design challenge, which you had four days to complete. I completed it, and sent the recruiter my availability. Then radio silence for a week or two. I followed up and the recruiter told me that the location I had applied for no longer existed (huh?) and then offered me one in a city I wasn't really interested in, but I agreed to go forward anyway. Then, another two weeks went by, and finally I was able to complete the interview. Interview was pretty casual, and the interviewer was friendly but there were a lot of distractions on both ends as happens with remote life. Anyway after all of that, I got rejected a few days later. I don't really know what happened but hey it be like that sometimes.

There was only 1 round of interview. Heard from recruiter 1 month after submitted application. Interview was 1 hour and did not seem structured at all; it went over a mix of technical and behavioral topics.
