I applied in October 2016 and received my first communication for a phone screen with a recruiter about 4 weeks later in November. After about 4 rounds of phone interview, I was flown out to San Francisco for an in-person interview. This was another exhausting four rounds of interviews. The people generally felt happy to be working at Facebook and asked questions from a paper and just wrote down the answers and rushed out. Every round seemed rushed. I don’t think we were able to get a feel for each other’s personalities. After the last round of interviews, I was escorted off campus. It just all seemed very rushed and cold.
The day after my interview, the recruiter called me to tell me that the interviewers commented on my intelligence, poise, knowledge and professionalism. She claimed they were impressed. However, she said they would not be extending an offer because the interviewers felt that I was a little advanced for the role and they weren’t sure I’d be happy in it.
I wouldn’t have applied if I would not be happy in the role. But, in retrospect- the way how they rushed the interviews and were so cold and dry, I may not have enjoyed the work environment.
