After one week, while I was negotiating with them on the offer decision date, the recruiter said to me over the phone "Spending time on you is unproductive." "If you don't accept the offer right now, I will give your offer to the 2nd place candidate." Since the 2nd place candidate had an offer expiring the day, Rakuten basically rescinded my offer.
