      Senior Network Security Engineer Interview

      23 Oct 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Salesforce (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2016

      Interview

Interview experience was very bad. They asked me questions that you would ask a person right out of college with no experience, for a position that needed significant experience (I hope). Throughout the interview process (over two months) they were impressed with my technical knowledge and depth in Security. I sometimes had to even dumb down my answers or correct the interviewers because their questions were technically wrong. Finally, after all the rounds were complete, they came back and said I did not know enough of security and I wasn't a good fit for the position ! My only suggestion is this - when you review a candidates resume and have him go through the entire process till the end, while also acknowledging how impressed everyone is with their knowledge, do not come back and make up an unbelievable excuse (time is valuable)

Thank you for your feedback on your interview experience with us. Candidate experience is a top priority for my team, and I'm sharing your review with the appropriate teams as an opportunity to learn how we could do better next time. I couldn't agree with you more that giving high quality feedback that rings true and provides value is especially important when ultimately the process ends without an offer. We want every candidate to feel that we value their time and it's unfortunate we didn't leave you with that impression. Thank you again for taking the time to let us know so we can work to improve.
