Pros

Good culture, not micro managed, amazing discount! Area leader and District Manager were fun, friendly and very approachable. Nice customers who really trust you and the process. Amazing place if you are good at clienteling and relationship building!

Cons

Sometimes hard to lead a sale without explaining the model first, but you get used to it. Inventory can be spotty and technology can get glitchy at times (but that is the same in most retail stores).

Pros

Small store teams made for a tight knit district which met via zoom weekly. There were calls for store managers to go over business as well as training and development calls for lead guides. Weekly self reviews by leads with their GM made for rapid development and lots of learning opportunities. The hourly wage was quite competitive because they have many positions that are great stepping stones for beginning sales careers.

Cons

While the bonus system (which was based on store’s net comp.) was a great way to encourage team selling and good morale, I found the bonuses underwhelming. Bonuses would typically be between 2-4% of the monthly net comp. and half as much for part timers. Commission would likely be more lucrative.

Pros

They have a generous employee discount to encourage you to wear their product, as well as a solid bonus structure for the sales staff. If you have a supportive manager and team, it can make your experience here fruitful.

Cons

Literally everything else. Managers will constantly hound you on converting every footstep, to the point where we’ve been told to chase people out of the door in order to buy something. I’ve watched management push people into $500+ purchases that clearly couldn’t afford their products. There’s almost no support from upper management to the guideshops. CONSTANT staffing issues, can’t say I ever worked in a fully staffed store. Even when the guideshops do have the staff, there’s inconsistencies everywhere with training. You may luck out and have an invested manager to train you, or end up being thrown in with no assistance, there’s no almost no in between. And not to mention, but if the stores are short staffed, which they always are, it makes it substantially harder to make bonus which can easily knock $1000 off your check monthly. They also use said bonuses as leverage upon hiring to pay qualified people much less. The closest I’ve ever seen upper management come to actually assisting the stores is occasionally reposting your LinkedIn posts. Extremely toxic and gossipy environment.

Pros

Good pay, easy job, if the manager is chill your job is chill

Cons

Corporate and senior management are terrible. Sales expectations are too high, and very little room for career growth. Work here for the pay, but don't stay too long

Pros

Easiest job I’ve ever had! My Manager was supportive and caring. We had a close knit team that really got along.

Cons

Not much room for growth and compensation could have been better.

Pros

Good starting hourly rate for folks who want a part-time gig.

Cons

Little room for growth. You may be able to become a lead guide within a year or so of experience but getting any higher than a lead is hard. Very high qualified talent were overlooked. Frequently, third party hires came in as managers who ended up being unprofessional.

Pros

I liked the concept of Bonobos. It was really cool and fresh. Using tech to order and handle everything was really efficient.

Cons

District Manager does not care about you or your life outside of work. She only wants you to get the sales, UPT, etc. Any sort of request is not listened to and your schedule is often not flexible.

Really Think Twice Before Applying Here

Pros

- Amazing Customers - Showroom environment - Decent bonus structure (but with caveats) - Smart Business model (again with caveats)

Cons

- Absentee upper management who seem only interested in getting store feedback directly from managers and through zoom calls. Really no presence to speak of. - No upward mobility they would perfer to mostly hire outside the company. - Plays Favorites. SMs can leave early and then get rewarded with promotions with remote home jobs where they basically get paid to just regurgitate the training manual. - Clueless on how to move the buisness forward. Everyday is a new bad idea that just results in a sale. Which results in customers not wanting anyting full price and devauling their own product. - Business model of direct to consumer means you are forever explaining that there is no product to leave with. Its like your on repeat the whole day and get sick of your own voice. - Pay seems decent at first until you realize you not only are selling but doing their marketing and costumer service for them. - Constantly angry customers due to shipping, warehouse or faulty technology. - Clothes are constructed poorly and made of cheap spandex.
