Always learning

Pros

There are very talented, smart people that I work with every day. The variety of work is exciting and the opportunities keep me growing and learning. My manager makes sure to help me and checks in regularly. We have summer Fridays and some fun happy hours. This is a great place to work and I have recommended it to my friends.

Cons

The work can be a lot sometimes on some projects probably because the clients have tight timelines.

Pros

1) completely remote with a nice office in Bengaluru 2) year end shut down

Cons

1) senior leadership in India are very incompetent and uninspiring and keep getting fired every year or so. 2)expect to work 9-11 hours a day, 3) the policy here is to pitch projects with unreasonable time lines and understaff it to maximise profits, they have been doing to for decades and swear by this strategy. 4) hikes are almost always delayed and is average. 5) HR are a bunch of robots Don’t join here unless you need a job urgently.

Pros

One of the best things about working here is the camaraderie across the development teams, including design team and producers. There's a strong sense of teamwork, and everyone is always willing to lend a hand or offer support when needed. The collaboration across departments makes for a great working experience. On top of that, the work-from-anywhere policy and flexible hours are fantastic perks.

Cons

While the company offers great opportunities and benefits, the leadership, particularly the senior management, severely impacts team morale. Instead of using feedback from the US office as an opportunity to improve or motivate her team, she often uses it to criticize and belittle them. Rather than uplifting or supporting her staff, she tends to foster a negative atmosphere. Additionally, she has little respect for people's time, often ignoring the boundaries of work hours, and her responses are often delayed, causing unnecessary bottlenecks and frustration. This has created a toxic environment where employees feel undervalued and overworked, instead of supported and motivated.

Cons

I Regret Leaving

Pros

I randomly was day dreaming at my current job and started thinking about Code, so i decided to put in a review. I've never seen a company like this before I worked at Code and Theory, And since leaving, I'm yet to see one like it now. It is very unique in the way it solves problems and the types of people that work there. Everyone is insanely smart, like crazy smart. Sometimes a bit nerdy (in a good way), but also super creative. I was pushed so hard, that the things I've learned from the company has given me knowledge that has just made me a better professional where I am now. I wish I never left, I'm now at a place that is boring with no ideas. I miss Code and Theory!

Cons

Sometimes I had to work extra hours to get things done right.

Pros

The work environment is genuinely fun, and everyone is approachable. If you encounter any challenges, you can easily ask other developers for help, which creates a strong sense of teamwork. The flexible work-life balance is another highlight, allowing you to manage your time effectively and balance personal and professional responsibilities.

Cons

The salary could use an increase to better reflect the workload. Additionally, project management could be more structured. As a backend developer, I’ve been assigned some heavy frontend tasks, which can feel overwhelming and require extra hours to meet deadlines. While this has helped me grow my skills, the sudden shifts in workload can sometimes lead to burnout.

Toxic disaster of an agency

Pros

- Seems legitimately committed to remote work

Cons

- Complete misalignment of what’s sold to clients and the resources allocated to projects, leading to long hours and lots of rushing around while getting yelled at for billing too many hours - Pitches itself as “50% technology/50% creative” but in reality no one in leadership knows much about technology and let creative run the show leading to problems when executing projects - Many inefficient processes and reviews that waste time. Leadership gets very defensive when teams recommend changes - No structured reviews or raise cadence, leading to advancement being tied purely to whether your function head personally likes you

Thank you for your feedback, we take it seriously and strive to get better and better. As far as our review process, we have a structured 360 review process that helps guide managers to do a review every 4-6 months. While managers are often late on their reviews given their schedules or delays in getting peer feedback, we encourage employees who have not received reviews to find us so that we can help push them forward. We also review salary for each and every employee one time per year. Our HR team work with managers who have delinquent reviews to try and help push them forward so that each and every employee receives formal feedback. Having said that, ALL managers should be engaging with their teams often and directly on how they are doing, what they are doing well and what they can work on. We strive to have a culture of direct and in the moment feedback and have put several things in place to help support our managers in this. Thank you again for your comments.
