Pros

Competitive pay and benefits package for an APP role in trauma — OU Health offers solid compensation compared to similar academic medical center positions Incredible learning environment; exposure to high-acuity trauma cases accelerates clinical growth faster than most APP positions Working within a large academic health system means access to resources, specialists, and cutting-edge protocols that smaller centers can't offer Great opportunity to build a strong trauma-specific skill set that opens doors for career advancement

Cons

The steep learning curve can feel overwhelming early on — the volume and complexity of cases demands you hit the ground running

Pros

Health Benefits are very good I genuinely enjoy the people I work with.

Cons

The campus is very large, and it can take a long time to learn your way around A lot of technical debt for a relatively new IT environment Company is not-for-profit, so budgetary constraints are a constant challenge.

Pros

Company benefits and values are attractive.

Cons

The work environment is draining and toxic - there is so much favoritism. Due to this some workers are unqualified for their roles.

Completely honest review

Pros

Pros include benefits (BCBS OK, VSP, Delta Dental) and fiscal year bonuses (if requirements are met throughout entire system)

Cons

Cons include that it is never ever fully staffed nor ever close, pay is competitive but not for the amount of work required, there are so many regulatory tasks that actual patient care has to be set aside for these tasks to be completed, they claim to have a zero tolerance policy for aggressive behavior from patients but this is a lie. They have created a “purple dot system” which is how you identify previously aggressive patients. Burnout from everyone at this place is high, very very high.
