Pros

I love Restore as a whole. The CEO, Matt, and the COO, Andy, are incredibly nice and intelligent people. I would just suggest that people looking for the services, go to a different location than South Lamar (Gateway is under the same ownership now too so tread carefully). Mueller has a great facility and the flagship location in South Austin- Arbor Trails is the name of the location. They have a couple hyperbaric oxygen chambers and 2 different kinds of cryotherapy chambers! I loved working at Restore until all the drama started with the change of ownership to Rudy and Edith Mejia.

Cons

I had to heavily revise this because the things that were happening, GD wouldn’t even let me write it in here…. I worked at Restore Hyper Wellness for over 18 months and was a top producer at the studio. Initially, I was excited by the promise of full-time employment and benefits under the new ownership. However, it quickly became clear that the work environment was not sustainable. There was a consistent pattern of micromanagement, conflicting direction from leadership, and lack of transparency regarding compensation. Commission — a large part of my income — was eliminated without warning. I often found myself caught between contradictory instructions from the owners, leading to unnecessary confusion and friction. Leadership frequently undermined staff morale by showing favoritism, poor communication, and in some cases, making employees the scapegoat for management’s own missteps. Concerns about ethical practices and pressure to prioritize upsells over customer well-being created an uncomfortable atmosphere, particularly for those of us with a background in professional, customer-centric sales. There were also concerns related to professionalism and respect. Some members of leadership pushed boundaries that could compromise licensed staff, while others lacked the training or willingness to support the team effectively. These actions impacted team cohesion and made the studio a difficult place to work. Despite this, many of my peers — especially the nursing staff — were incredible professionals who genuinely cared about their work. Unfortunately, their efforts were often overshadowed by the toxicity stemming from the top down.

Pros

-easy hours and good work environment once you get to know everyone -clients are typically much better to work with than hospital clients

Cons

-dealing with the owners as they always want more sales each month with bare minimum staffing -low pay for nurses with not enough resources to learn in the right amount of time -start up vibes with all the various platforms needed to run smoothly -lack of structure for new employees -staffing issues

Pros

It's super easy, and there isn't a lot of workload. Machines and equipment are easy to use when they're actually working. Regulars are usually really friendly and easy to talk to. Good benefits if full-time.

Cons

Poor management, high turnover, and no real growth opportunities. Management turnover was CONSTANT — I went through three managers in one year — and leadership decisions were often inconsistent and emotionally driven rather than based on data or strategy. Issues were rarely addressed directly or professionally, which created a toxic and uncomfortable work environment. Management likes to gossip about other employees. I was also in charge of training these new managers and employees, and was not compensated. Sales reps are not valued. Despite contributing to increased sales, compensation did not reflect performance. There are no commissions or meaningful incentives, and hourly pay does not make up for the lack of earning potential. “Bonuses” are extremely difficult to achieve and are unrealistic. In the year and a half I was there, we hit the bonus once, which was an extra $100, and ended up being taken out in taxes anyways. Management spends excessive time in meetings without implementing real solutions, while frontline employees are given busy work that leads nowhere. Turnover among sales reps and managers is extremely high, and many studios are frequently shut down due to poor performance or leadership. The interview and hiring process feels rushed due to constant staffing shortages. While benefits are decent, they seem to be used to offset low pay, lack of growth, and poor culture. Everyone I worked with was actively trying to leave, and morale was consistently low. We always felt uneasy in the workspace and were not comfortable around upper management. Lack of trust, to say the least. If you’re looking for a sales role with growth, structure, accountability, or performance-based compensation, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Your time is worth way more than what you'll go through.

Pros

Collaborative team culture where everyone's voice matters. Managers genuinely care about both personal and professional growth. Opportunities to take initiative and grow your leadership skills. Positive high-energy work environment. Clear expectations and accountability across all levels. Recognition for hard work and goal achievement.

Cons

As with any fast-past environment things can move quickly and require adaptability. Sometimes wearing multiple hats can feel overwhelming at times, but it's part of the growth and learning process.

Terrible Owner

Pros

What the company stands for overall.

Cons

Sinking ship. It all starts from the top down. The owner of this location also owns 5 others (used to own a total of 8, but has to close 2 of them), and it’s clear as to why his studios are failing. Extremely hostile work environment. Working under him results in a slew of curse words and verbal harassment.

Pros

- Hourly base pay + commission on packages and products - Product discount - Overall relaxed environment to work in - Good work/life balance - Continuing training via corporate esthetics team

Cons

- Franchise owners vary, sometimes they can be awful - No pay increase at my location - Unrealistic goals (with current owners) - Poor communication from corporate esthetics team - Usually only one esthetician working at a time, so it's hard to connect with other estheticians for uniformity in treatments - Few service and treatment options
