In Singtel, People and Sustainability is a critical pillar of our business strategy. Without our people, the work culture and digital innovations will not be where it is today. This is why we are constantly looking out for and investing in growing the right people to be part of the Singtel community. Singtel’s SHINE Cadet Programme aims to attract the top cadets from Polytechnics’ tech faculty to join us in this Digital Innovation journey. Students will acquire hands-on skills, knowledge, gain deep expertise while pursuing their Diploma. Our leaders will also mentor these students personally to maximise their learning and potential to impact the community through digital innovation. In turn, Singtel also learns from the young bright minds of students and adapts our learning ecosystem to fit their needs. We look forward to learning and growing together with these young tech talents!

It's a wrap for Sustainability Month and what an exciting month it had been! We marked the start of a new chapter for the Human Resources and Sustainability teams at Singtel Group, who are now known collectively as Group People & Sustainability. This reflects our commitment to put people and sustainability at the fore of Singtel's strategic reset, where everyone has a part to play in championing sustainability. Through a series of online webinars and workshops, participants learnt how to take charge of their health and minimise cancer risks; discovered how to utilise the keys to happiness and life satisfaction; found out how to keep energised during work by inculcating healthy eating habits; and were inspired to rethink the possibilities of waste by creating a mask holder upcycled from paper cartons! We also released our seventh Group Sustainability Report in early July. Learn more about our sustainability pillars: https://www.singtel.com/sr2021.
We continue to progress in our sustainability journey and champion initiatives in our four key sustainability areas of Climate Change and Environment, People and Future of Work, Community Impact and Sustainable Value Creation. Here are some highlights from our previous financial year! We also look to the next five years and beyond, where we will minimise environmental impact through decarbonisation and renewable energy; drive digital access, literacy and inclusion for our communities; foster a diverse, inclusive and a future-ready workforce; and develop sustainability in our value chain by strengthening our governance.
