I understand that the transition our people go through when we acquire a firm can be challenging. Even though we work with the firms we acquire to ensure there are more synergies than differences, I sure it can feel like a bit of a culture shock for our new teammates. But all our work gives us confidence it’s a good match; we know Javan is a great fit for CHA and vice versa. As for being bean counters 😉 We like to think of ourselves as extremely thoughtful and deliberate. We want to ensure we are making the best decisions so that our business remains healthy and is growing. The good news is that all that deliberation and thoughtfulness leads to success and wonderful things like job security. But I’m sure, it can also feel cold or distant for those more accustomed to working for a smaller business. I can say with confidence that the people of CHA are not cold and distant at all – on the contrary, we are warm and welcoming. Just give it time, it will feel normal again soon. I’m speaking for all of us when I say we are all very happy that you are now a part of the CHA team.

As for our compensation practices and philosophy, at CHA we focus on fairness, internal equity and being competitive in the market. We strive to ensure our employees are compensated competitively and I feel we do a really good job at that, although there is always room for review and improvement. Additionally, CHA is a pay for performance company; if someone on our team regularly goes above and beyond, their compensation should reflect their effort. We agree! CHA is balanced and flexible and our people are friendly and helpful. Thank you for sharing that wonderful feedback, and we’re glad you see what so many do here at CHA. As I’m sure you have noticed, CHA is growing; and sometimes it feels like we are growing faster than the speed of light. And sometimes that growth can lead to being a little disorganized; but we are always working to level set through the growth.

-A large variety of jobs, can definitely learn a lot and grow -People are really nice and knowledgeable, we truly have the best engineers in the industry here CHA

Cons

-High stress level work schedules. So far this is one of the biggest reasons for people who left. -Management does not spend enough time to care for the individual well being of the employees under high stress.

I'm sorry to learn that you felt there was no room for you to grow professionally. We are growing so quickly that if feels as if opportunities come along frequently and when you least expect it. It sounds like that was not your experience that that is unfortunate. Take care and I hope you consider returning to CHA in the future!

Flexible work schedules, decent health insurance

Cons

Project managers are severely overworked leading to new engineers learning everything on their own with high utilization rates. There is a lot of gossiping, managers overseeing their best friends, and extremely dysfunctional teams with people openly breaking down in the office. If you can function on your own you can do decently well, but the culture needs a lot of work. I saw several new engineers given utilization rates around 95% who were not given much work to do and then were chastised for not hitting their utilization.
