Your positive feedback is greatly appreciated! You commented on two things that CHA prides itself in: relevant and timely communication across the organization and transparency. We believe these qualities are critical in creating a culture where our team members feel valued, respected, and inspired. We are also so glad to know you found your CHA managers and peers helpful. We are very proud of our onboarding experience where we help those new to the organization form relationships with their colleagues. Although there is always more work to do, your comment lets us know we are on the right track.

Thank you for your feedback and I'm happy to hear that you are being exposed to lots of different projects and experiences. We have a lot to offer our people relative to professional development through work experiences. I understand the challengs of keeping up with enough top notch talent to do all the work we have. Our TA team is working overtime to identify and bring in that talent, and we are on track to hire more employees this year than in any previous year.

Pros

Great work life balance, tons of work, excellent and proficient engineers and project managers

Cons

Consulting is Cyclical, there are times with no work and some times with an abundant amount of work.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for highlighting the strong work-life balance and the caliber of talent across our engineering and project management teams. We’re proud to foster an environment where people feel supported and energized by the work they do and the colleagues they collaborate with. You’ve also made an important point about the cyclical nature of consulting. While it’s a reality of the industry, we’re continually working to improve how we manage project flow and resource planning to help our teams navigate those fluctuations more smoothly.

Pros

Cant think of any to put

Cons

This company is very corporate like for a company that really is not that big. They act like they are a small company while at the same time preaching they are a big company (identity crisis). The IT department is very cliquey. The encourage people to not put in a ticket for an IT issue and just bombard the desktop team with their issue. If you cant help them right away, they are very impatient. Management is more concerned with furthering their own careers and their likability with other departments than managing the team. The manager of the team is both a director and a manager, to say he is out of touch with reality is an understatement. They tend to hire people who are stagnant in their careers for this position. They do not want to train anyone. Laziness is the biggest issue on the team. Stay away, you have been warned.

Pros

CHA has the best group of managers and staff out of all of the companies I have worked for. I feel that the Technical Managers and Project Managers actually want to see us succeed in our careers.

Cons

It sometimes feels like HR is out of touch with certain regions.

Pros

Good people. The office itself is nice.

Cons

High high turnover. In my office, we lost ~80% of the mid-level management in a year and a half (project managers and section leaders). We lost probably 20% of the low level staff. No one is working in the office. Non-existent office culture as a result. Redundant management style. Lack of direction. Miscommunication, conflicting messaging, and unfulfilled promises.

Your comments about turnover reflect the competitive nature of our industry, as vying for top talent is more fierce than ever. CHA’s Talent Acquisition Team has been working on overdrive to fill vacancies and recruit great team members to our company. Indeed, COVID has taken a toll on office workplace culture across the board, not just at CHA. On the bright side, we are fortunate to work in an industry that is thriving despite the setbacks of the past 18 months, and that our employees have been able to transition to work from home so successfully. We appreciate you taking the time to leave comments here, the good and the not-so-good, as we can always grow from constructive feedback. I’m thrilled you like your colleagues and feel good about your office environment and I’m sure more and more people will start to return to the office over the next number of months.

Dysfunctional

Pros

Flexible work schedules, decent health insurance

Cons

Project managers are severely overworked leading to new engineers learning everything on their own with high utilization rates. There is a lot of gossiping, managers overseeing their best friends, and extremely dysfunctional teams with people openly breaking down in the office. If you can function on your own you can do decently well, but the culture needs a lot of work. I saw several new engineers given utilization rates around 95% who were not given much work to do and then were chastised for not hitting their utilization.

Thank you for sharing your perspective and for recognizing our flexible work options and benefits. We respectfully disagree with the characterization of our culture and teams. While expectations in a consulting environment are high, we place strong emphasis on accountability, collaboration, and professional growth. Utilization goals are established with business needs in mind and are supported through active project planning and manager engagement. We continuously invest in training, leadership development, and clear performance expectations to ensure employees—especially early‑career professionals—are positioned to succeed, using a broad range of data points to guide ongoing improvement. We appreciate the opportunity to respond and wish you continued success in your career.
