You will be a key leader within our world-class Global Operations (Freight) team, playing a leading role in ensuring seamless global shipment operations to bring Secretlab's products to customers across over 60 countries worldwide. Partnering with the Head of Freight, you will be shaping and driving all freight strategy within Secretlab. This includes owning the global freight blueprint, operations P&L and leading the regional freight team in navigating through the ever-changing supply chain landscape.

• Be one of the function’s key personnel responsible for the performance of the freight team, while being responsible for the relevant workstream and dependencies
  • Adopt a proactive exception management approach and to manage escalated problems
  • Maintain and initiate strong communications with the wider organisation, ensuring that relevant internal/external stakeholders (ie: Fulfilment, Demand planning, Finance etc) by actively anticipating and tackling potential freight challenges
• Be one of the function’s key personnel responsible for the growth and performance of Secretlab’s Freight (sea, rail, air) function in the areas of resourcing, team structuring & development, technology adoption/ implementation (e.g. TMS, BI Tools, etc.), and any other factors for success.
  • Be an advocate in driving best practices, change management initiatives and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement
• Support and execute top-level Freight Management tactics direction from the Head of Logistics, including identifying opportunities to gain competitive advantages for the organisation
  • Translate high-level regional freight strategy into solutions, constructively challenging the status quo and driving improvements to key performance indicators
• Be one of the function’s key advisors and partner to the Head of Logistics and other leaders in the business, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Lead or collaborate in defining Secretlab’s vendor procurement strategy, you should:
  • Shape the vendor process (sourcing, selection criteria, costing strategy, KPIs, onboarding, reporting, etc.)
  • Act as the key figurehead to vendors where necessary.
  • Ensure that the Regional and special shipment freight teams have sufficient resources to deliver the business’s objectives
  • Actively partner with the business in driving proactive interdepartmental communications and managing dependencies to ensure a smooth flow of operations
• Lead partner performance management & optimisation,
  • Monitoring and reporting on key performance metrics/ targets
  • Be chiefly responsible for Freight cost and resource utilisation
  • Implementation of new dashboards and relevant tools, as necessary
• Provide inspired leadership for the freight team, collaborating with same level peers and nurturing sub-department leaders to effectively build a high-performing team while promoting a healthy team culture
  • Manage and drive the performance of the team by communicating resource allocation, role responsibilities, and performance evaluations, to ensure effective team performance independently
  • Act as a role model for the team and others in the company

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant course of studies.
• At least 6-8 years’ relevant experience, with 2-3 years of successfully leading global freight strategy & operations for a company of relevant scale
• Prior experience with a high growth company, especially in the e-commerce space will be highly advantageous
• Strong network of relationships within the shipping/ freight forwarding industry
• High familiarity with the relevant technologies and tools (TMS, BI, etc.), you should be highly analytical and advocate a data-centric approach to work.
• You should be a natural problem solver, adept with adopting unconventional solutions to navigate challenging circumstances.
• You should be a savvy leader, earning the team’s trust and respect through people-centric management while being highly competent in your field. Experience grooming successful middle managers is highly advantageous.

• Foundation in Global Supply Chain, logistics, shipping, and/ or warehousing operations
