Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs). As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to- market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you’ll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. We are looking for a SQL Analytics Specialist Solutions Architect to join our AWS team. In this role, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), working directly with AWS customers to design cloud-based analytics solutions using Amazon Redshift and the broader SQL Analytics ecosystem — including Redshift Serverless, data sharing, Redshift ML, zero-ETL integrations, Data Lake architecture, Iceberg tables, S3 tables, Athena, and SageMaker Lakehouse.

You will help customers build the data foundation required to get the most out of their AI projects and investments. As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organizations understand advanced cloud-based solutions and migrate existing workloads to the cloud. You will also have the opportunity to shape and execute a strategy to build mind share and broad adoption of AWS across organizations ranging from start-ups to large enterprise customers. Success in this role requires the ability to link technology with measurable business value. Key job responsibilities
Provide deep technical expertise for customer engagements involving AWS SQL Analytics services, including Amazon Redshift and Amazon Athena. Design and deploy scalable, high-performance data warehousing and analytics solutions.

Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.

Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.

Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.

Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.

Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.

Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population to help them understand how to integrate new AWS solutions into customer architectures

About the team
This position is part of the Amazon Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruiting, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
